PRP Blood Drive

Written By Charley Harp

In 2017, the Red Cross reported that every two seconds, someone in the United States needs blood. This high demand for blood causes the Red Cross to run five-hundred blood drives on any given day and soon, one will be held here at PRP.

The blood drive was arranged by Erin Ferguson, a teacher in the Health Science Academy. “It is going to happen on October 27th from 8:00 a.m to 1:00 p.m,” she said in her notoriously cheery voice. “I wanted to arrange this blood drive because I feel that it is very important for people in hospitals to get the blood they need when they need it.”

The qualifications to participate in the blood drive are:

1. You must be in good health and feeling well.

2. You must be at least 16.

3. You must weight at least 110 pounds.

From the time you walk in to the time you leave is only an hour, and all workers are registered healthcare professionals. Make sure to visit and donate! Your one donation can save up to three lives.
