There are so many new faces this year and I know I’m not the only one struggling to keep up. Among these newbies is Mr. Aaron Weaver, Pleasure Ridge Park’s brand new choir director. Weaver graduated from the University of Kentucky in 2007 and 2011 with two Bachelor’s degrees, and again this year with his Masters.
When asked what he wants out of this year, he first replied with, “I just want us to be good.” But, Weaver quickly changed his mind to a simple, one worded, “Dope.” If you’ve ever met Mr. Weaver, this response makes perfect sense as he usually tries to stay “’hip” or “cool”.
The choir is extremely excited for their new instructor. Senior Jayda Cotton said, “It’s really cool to have someone who knows so much about music!”
Weaver comes by his music knowledge honestly, as both of his parents have been choir teachers since he was a toddler. When asked how long he’s been singing, he said, “Since I was a baby, three or four probably.” With someone who has so many years of experience and love for the craft under their belt, the choir program will become a staple for PRP again.
