Despite being over a month into the 2017-2018 school year, PRP is still managing to surprise its students with features like the new campus store, The Panther Pit.
Open daily, The Panther Pit, started by Jennifer Danzinger, Deanna Hawks, and Nick Waddell, will be ran by a special hand-picked Entrepreneurship class during all three lunches.
“I’m excited to work there,” said Junior Jackson Roney, “I believe The Panther Pit will teach me valuable skills for the workforce.”
Merchandise being sold in the store will include hats and shirts, along with basic school supplies like pencils, pens, erasers, protractors, index cards, etc. To determine prices, students conducted research and compared values with store such as Staples and Walmart.
It may be new, but the teachers already have big goals for The Pit. They have called upon Mrs. Webb’s design classes to create their logo and plan on the store being open for quite awhile, even for events like next year’s registration and open house. Sometimes, the shop has special deals going on, so always be on the lookout for bargains.
“Working here is going to be good experience for the future,” Roney said. “Make sure you stop by and see us in The Pit today!”
