On Saturday, August 2, from 9 AM to noon, Amy Stewart from the Family Resource Center began a courtyard renovation project with the help of volunteers from the Southeast Christian Church at PRP.
There will be a concrete patio with eight red picnic tables and all new landscaping. In addition, the beams and poles will be repainted.
As a part of the church’s expansion, Southeast Christian Church initiated a community outreach program for six Jefferson County schools including PRP High School, Valley High School, Greenwood Elementary, Conway Middle School, Farnsley Middle School, and Doss High School.
After the opportunity landed on Mrs. Stewart’s desk, she contacted Mrs. Salyer, and it was decided that a courtyard renovation would greatly improve the school since it gives students somewhere to hang out and eat lunch.
The volunteers came together through a signup sheet at the church.
